If you plan project with dates that are moving targets (we all do!), auto scheduling just may become your best friend. Automatically adjust all of the dates in your project with a single drag and drop! Here's how it works.
Tasks can be scheduled automatically based on dependency links between them.
For example, if you have Create User Stories and Present User Stories Document connected with a dependency, the start date of the Present User Stories Document will be automatically set to the end date of Create User Stories, and will be updated each time the Create User Stories is changed.
Note: Present User Stories Document will only auto schedule if Create User Stories end date exceeds its start date. Remember, the tasks must have dependencies set and Auto Scheduling turned on in order to auto schedule.
Auto scheduling allows you to generate and maintain the project schedule by specifying the relationships between tasks, without the need to set dates for each task manually.
Turning on Auto Scheduling
Auto scheduling is not turned on by default. To turn on auto scheduling, click the Auto Schedule button in the top right corner of the Gantt chart.
Note: When you turn on auto scheduling, all of your tasks won't automatically schedule, only the task that you move while auto scheduling is turned on.
This setting does not save, so you will have to turn it on each time you want to auto schedule.
